It Never Lies!

The mirror can be confrontative. To be as we once were is a human enough yearning but facts are facts and for most of our lives the mirror does not lie. But now there is AI and the eye, it seems, can be deceived.

It Never Lies!

The camera tells a candid tale—_

they say it never lies;

it makes your crows’ feet more pronounced,

it flaunts your thunderous thighs.

The button clicks, and there you are,

your visage drawn and spotty;

and when you’re pictured standing,

it accentuates your botty.

If caught off guard before the lens,_

we may seem dressed like beggars;

and if your tummy’s not held in,_

it can appear you’re preggers.

But be of cheer! AI is here_

to iron out those crinkles;

while photoshop can slim you down_

and smooth out all your wrinkles.

So even though I’m prunish-faced_

and silver haired and portly,

in photos on the mantelpiece_

I’ll be forever forty.
